OCTOBER

Punt, Pass & Kick contest
Saturday, October 2
Time: 9 a.m. - noon
Location: Bacchus Community Park
                 
(13995 FM 3537/west of Main Street-Independence intersection)

Local boys and girls ages 8 to 15 are invited by the Frisco Parks & Recreation Department to compete in the NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick contest. Participants will complete each segment of the contest: punting, passing and kicking for a total cumulative score based on distance and accuracy. 

Awards will be presented to the first, second and third place winners in each age division with the winner of each age division having the opportunity to move on to the regional competition.

This is a free competition with registration taking place the day of the event. Age divisions for both boys and girls are: 8-9, 10-11, 12-13 and 14-15. Ages are determined as of December 31, 2010. A copy of the child’s birth certificate is required to enter the contest.

Participants are not allowed to wear cleats or turf shoes.  Only gym shoes will be allowed. A junior sized football will be used for ages 8-11 and an intermediate size will be used for ages 12-15.

Lone Star Storytelling Festival

The City of Frisco’s 7th Annual Lone Star Storytelling Festival elevates the art of the story with performances from some of the nation’s best-loved professional storytellers. More details about the Festival may be found at LoneStarStories.org. Tickets may be purchased online at the festival website, by mail using the order form on the website and in festival brochure, or in person at Frisco Public Library’s borrow and return desk. Tickets can also be purchased at the festival.

Mother Son Dance

Moms, take the young men in your life out for an evening of fun for an "All Star Evening" at the 9th Annual Mother Son Dance.

 Mothers and their sons ages 4 to 12 are welcome to join Frisco  Parks and Recreation for the 9th annual Mother Son Dance. Tickets  go on sale Friday, August 27 in person at the Frisco Athletic Center or online at FriscoFun.org.  Read the complete event details on page 23 of the Frisco Fun Guide.

Pumpkin Splash Patch
Saturday, October 16

Location: Frisco Athletic Center Indoor Pool
Tickets: $12 (resident); $15 (non-resident)

Put on your swimsuit and join the quest for your perfect Halloween pumpkin. Each participant will get the opportunity to pick one pumpkin from the pool and to decorate it. Admission includes: a pumpkin of your choice, swim pass for the day and a special Trick-or-Treat goodie bag. Please arrive at 10 a.m. for check-in.

Ages 7-8 are required to wear a life jacket that is provided. Life jackets are optional for ages 9-10.

Fall Festival at
Frisco Fire Safety Town

Visit us for a SPOOKTACULAR time! The FFST Fall Festival is designed for young kiddos (tots through elementary school age), but parents and grandparents who are young at heart will have fun too!  Our event encourages children to practice trick-or-treating safely as they walk through our outdoor town.  The miniature buildings will be decorated for Halloween by each individual sponsor, but nothing will be too scary for the little ones.

Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes. There will be great photo opportunities as the youngsters climb on the fire engine cut down to kid size, or practice ‘escaping’ from a fire through a window.  Expect to see the resident fire clowns making the rounds as you trick-or-treat!

Chunk Your Junk

Frisco residents, the city’s Environmental Services division has the perfect opportunity for you safely dispose of items cluttering up your home or garage. The fall Chunk Your Junk event will be held on Saturday, November 6.

Entry will be from southbound First Street only. Other entries will be closed. For directions to the facility, call 972-292-5900 or go to FriscoTexas.gov/recycle.

Christmas in the Square Holiday Lights
Nightly, November 26 - January 8

Location: George A. Purefoy Municipal Center and Frisco Square 
                  (Coleman - Main Street to Frisco Square Boulevard)

The City of Frisco is pleased to partner with Frisco Square to bring you the largest choreographed holiday lights and music display in Texas. Frisco Square's 'Christmas in the Square' has a variety of family-oriented activities happening on various dates.

The event also features a Christmas Tree Lot operated by Boy Scout Troop 51. The tree lot will operate November 26 through December 19.

DECEMBER

Breakfast with Santa

               Free for children younger than two

You are cordially invited to enjoy an amazing breakfast with Santa, Frosty and Rudolph.  Kids will have the opportunity to participate in holiday activities and visit with Santa about their Christmas wish list.  Children must attend with one parent or responsible adult. Don't forget to bring your cameras!

Tickets go on sale Friday, October 29 at 8:00 a.m. and can be purchased at the Frisco Athletic Center Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. - 9 p.m., Saturday, 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., or online at FriscoFun.org.  All tickets purchased online must be picked up at the Frisco Athletic Center by 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3. No refunds or exchanges.

Merry Main Street

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of holiday tradition as the city kicks-off off the Christmas holiday at the 20th Annual Merry Main Street event. Santa arrives at 5 p.m. Live reindeer, carriage rides, mini-train rides, and the Kid's Holiday Store are just a few of the activities. Plus, holiday music from Frisco ISD elementary school choirs will fill the plaza with holiday cheer.

Frisco Fire Safety Town will have its 4th annual Holiday Lights Celebration 
on multiple evenings posted above.   Bring friends and family to walk through the outdoor town and see each of the miniature buildings decorated for the holiday season.   The event is free.

The Texas Tornado hockey team is offering a BUY ONE get ONE FREE ticket to the game that evening to everyone attending the Santa Skate event! Mrs. Claus' Tea Party

Mrs. Claus is having a tea party! Join her for tea, hot chocolate, cookies and music. Guests will enjoy a holiday story and craft. Boys and girls ages three and older are invited to attend. A parent or caregiver is required to attend and will need to register. Registration ends December 9. Registration is available online at FriscoFun.org or in person at the Frisco Athletic Center. Space is limited.
