 Drive Frisco

Whether you live here or you are visiting, we hope these instructions will make motoring through Frisco easier.

New School Zones for 2009-2010

School is back in session August 24 for Frisco ISD, Lewisville ISD and Prosper ISD. This year Frisco ISD has three new campuses opening.

Early Childhood School (circulation map)
The new facility is opening next to Christie Elementary School, located at 10330 Red Cedar Ln. The location is several blocks southwest of Main Street and Hillcrest Road.  The Early Childhood School will share the same school zones as Christie Elementary.

Allen Elementary School (circulation map)
The school is located at 5800 Legacy Dr., south of Academy Dr., next to the Cheyenne Crossing neighborhood.  The 20 mph school zone will be in effect on Legacy Drive in front of the school and on Academy Drive. A new traffic signal will also be operational during school zone times to assist the outbound traffic from the school. The light will flash yellow for Legacy Drive at all other times of the day.

Heritage High School
Opening on Eldorado Parkway west of Independence Parkway.  There is a new 20 mph school zone on Eldorado Parkway in front of the school.  Eldorado Parkway was just recently widened in front of the school and now provides a continuous stretch of four-lane roadway from Custer Road to just west of Heritage High School.  A new traffic signal is also operating at the intersection of Eldorado and Independence in order to ease traffic congestion in all four directions.

Lone Star High School
Opening for partial use at the corner of Panther Creek Parkway and Teel Parkway.  The school district will be busing some ninth graders from Wakeland High School to this new campus for some classes each day.  Lone Star High School will fully open in August 2010.  The school zone that was put into effect last year at the intersection of Panther Creek Parkway and Teel Parkway will remain in effect next to Lone Star High School.  The zone will be expanded next year when the Lone Star campus opens for full operations.

Update to Griffin Middle School (circulation map)
The widening of Eldorado Parkway between FM 423 and the Dallas North Tollway is nearing a point where traffic will begin using additional lanes in both directions.  Due to this new traffic pattern, the circulation map for Griffin Middle School has been modified.  Due to the new median, one of the school's driveways will no longer have access to both directions of Eldorado Parkway.  The city is working with the FISD to alter the school’s bus and parent circulation plan before school starts.

Pizza Hut Park Special Events:
Click here to find a map detailing exit routes for traffic leaving large concerts and or special events hosted at Pizza Hut Park.  These routes are based on parking lots.  Please remember, you will be forced to head in a certain direction depending which parking lot you are leaving.  There are no exceptions.  We appreciate your patience -- leaving a concert or special event requires more time than it took you to get there since most people depart at once.
