 Fifth Grade Program

Fifth graders visiting Frisco Fire Safety Town will study “Internet Safety and Personal Information Awareness” during their safety program.   The class will last approximately one and a half to two hours and includes:

Students use laptops as they learn about Internet Safety  -  a classroom presentation
  -  students complete classroom
     exercises using laptops
  -  tour of Frisco Central Fire Station

During the class, students will learn:

  -  what child predators look for online to target their victims
  -  what types of information are considered ‘private’ and should
      not be provided online
  -  what to do should students encounter someone online that
     makes them feel unsafe

To assist classroom educators, we have created a Fifth Grade Pre-Visit Teacher Resource Guide that includes an overview of the “Internet Safety and Personal Information Awareness” program.

The fifth grade classroom has a maximum capacity of 45 children. Programs are taught twice each day at 9:30 a.m. and again at 12:00 p.m.

Currently, those elementary students attending public, private or home schools in Frisco or Frisco I.S.D. will have priority when scheduling programs.

Other schools or districts who would like to visit Frisco Fire Safety Town will be accommodated as scheduling permits. We will work with your groups to arrange scheduling for your grade levels or campus.
